The judges were impressed with the broad, strategic, collaborative approach of the OGP People and Culture Team: their listening approach, true business partnering, willingness to be innovative, robust implementation, massive impact and metrics that demonstrated improved attrition and return on investment.

With 230 employees, the OGP context is one of reform of the Public Service and procurement. They restructured HR to be strategically focused and supported by valued and professional HR expertise to deliver on the future needs of the business. The team led OGP’s employee engagement journey and gave employees a voice that informed the development of a comprehensive People Strategy, EMPOWER. Renamed as People and Culture, the work was linked clearly to CIPD principles that People and professionalism matters, and for the public sector this approach has game changing potential.
