Isabel Ryan, Applegreen PLC

Isabel joined the newly formed HR function in Applegreen, the roadside retailer, and shaped her role to ensure maximum value-add.  Isabel’s hands-on approach was invaluable in supporting the setup of the function. With her collaborative approach she developed key relationships with stakeholders and became the ‘go-to’ person for her colleagues’ queries. Her growth in confidence was evident from her engagement with Applegreen’s first ever Graduate Programme.

For the judges, Isabel’s success was very evident from how she project-managed a key initiative around graduate recruitment that was well researched, thought through, and successfully implemented.

Highly commended

Ashley Molloy Tuath Housing Association

Last year Charlotte Doyle from Tuath Housing, a housing charity attended the CIPD 2019 Student Conference, and met students from Trinity College. Ashley connected through the CIPD network and Charlotte organised for her to work in Tuath. In a short time, Ashley excelled, demonstrating innovation, employee focus, diversity and social inclusion, and a drive for continuous improvement.

Seeing this example of the power of the CIPD network, the judges were particularly impressed with how Ashley demonstrated strong passion and knowledge for the values of inclusion and diversity which fit with the strategy and output of Tuath.
