‘Our journey: A culture of workplace well-being at Pramerica’
Pramerica has over 1,800 people in Letterkenny. They put a strong emphasis on safety, health and welfare, and adopted a holistic approach to health and wellness, incorporating financial, physical, spiritual, social, intellectual and emotional dimensions.
The environment promotes well-being, and seeks to be stimulating and enriching, while balancing personal and organisational needs, acknowledging how the lines between work and personal life are more of a challenge to separate nowadays. There is shared responsibility between Pramerica and employees to uphold the collective health and wellness of the organisation. The judges were impressed with this holistic approach, the management support, the strong governance, and good use of metrics.
ICE GROUP
‘4dayweek.ie’
Owner managed ICE Group provides recruitment, training and outsourced services from Galway. The judges were impressed with how they took the opportunity to integrate productivity and well-being in reducing working hours in an innovative positive culture.
Growing out of the company’s SMART Day, to ‘Be Bloody Brilliant’, the Directors introduced a 4dayweek project. Following a pilot the workforce have reduced their working hours and moved to four 9 hour days per week, with business is spread over 5 days. They set out to change the lives of employees, their families and begin the 4dayweek conversation in Ireland. This counter intuitive piece of work resulting in a compressed working week has brought greater productivity and wellness.
